A highlight of the display is the framed cover painting of "The Burnt
Stick" by Mark Sofilas.
Interestingly the original background is the lighter greens and blues of the paperback edition, not the deep purples and browns of the first hardcover edition. Some of Mark's black and white illustrations are also on show, together with copies of the manuscript pages and editing proofs.
There are copies of Jim Martin's heartbreaking hand-written letters to his Mother and Father from Gallipoli and reprinted in "Soldier Boy".
There is a framed photo of "Young Digger" togged up in his miniature uniforms. And there are notebooks, diaries and photographs from Anthony's research expeditions including a 10 day sail on HM Bark Endeavour for "Captain Cook's Apprentice", his coffee mug and chewed pencils. Scraps from a writers life.
