About the presenter:

Kathy Read was born in England, and due to evacuation during the war, her early education was very scattered. She began writing stories at about the age of ten, and again in her teens when living away from home. Her next attempt at writing was in the 1960s.

In the 1990s, Kathy joined a writing group run by a member of the Fellowship of Australian Writers. She had a story published in Readers' World, a magazine for writers; completed several courses at TAFE and two with the Australian College of Journalism.

Since 2002, Kathy has had eleven items published in anthologies and has almost finished a course with Lifestyle Learning Direct, a college in Queensland. She is in the early stages of her third novel.
