Drug Action Week 2010 is an initiative of the Alcohol and Othe Drugs Council of Australia to raise awareness about alcohol and other drug issues in Australia. The theme for the week is "Looking After YOUR Mind!"
The library is hosting two events and a display during this week:
- Tuesday 22 June at Tuggeranong Library at 10 am - 12 pm
- Friday 25 June at Tuggeranong Library at 1 pm - 3pm
Drop in to learn about creative therapies and try it for yourself! Creative therapies can involve anything from working with clay to creative writing. Staff from the Alcohol and Drug Foundation ACT (ADFACT) will be present to give creative therapy demonstrations, chat and provide information on drug and alcohol issues and services within the community.
Find out more about ADFACT here.
- Friday 18 June - Friday 25 June at Civic Library Youth Area
Come and take a look at this display created by young people engaged with the Ted Noffs Foundation. The display features service maps, photos, information about supports in the community and shares stories about challenges for young people trying to detox in their community.
