Kingston Library Book Discussion Group for Kids

Calling all kids aged 10 - 12. Do you love reading? Do you love talking? Do you love having fun and making new friends? If so, come along to the Kingston Library Book Discussion Group for Kids and have fun discovering new books as well as some old favourites. We'll be covering a different theme each month and you'll get to help choose what that theme is.

Monthly on Mondays, starting on 2 August 2010
3.30 pm - 4.30 pm
Kingston Library

Bookings essential: http://www.library.act.gov.au/ or phone 6205 9000

Please bring along a book you've read recently. You'll be invited to talk about your book with other participants - what you did and didn't like about it, and so on.

At the first session we will also discuss themes for future sessions. How about ...
  • Vampires and other things that bite (exploring the horror genre)
  • Geeks, freaks and misfits (books about kids who don’t fit it)
  • Just for laughs (funny books)
  • Families – who needs them? (books with a family theme)
  • Getting graphic (graphic novels and other comic style books)
  • Time warp (historic and futuristic fiction)

At the end of each session, you'll be able to choose a book to read for the following session, and be given a list of other books you might like to read, and websites to check out. We'll also have some snacks to nibble on.
