Get Reading in September!

September is Get Reading month!

Get Reading! is Australia's largest annual celebration of books and reading. It is a nationwide Australian Government initiative developed through the Australia Council for the Arts.

You can pick up a copy of the "50 Books You Can't Put Down" guide free at the Public Library. During September we will showcase titles from the guide on our blog and through Twitter.

Each year, Get Reading! promotes 50 books with broad appeal to encourage all Australians to get reading. The list of 50 books is published in the FREE 50 Books You Can't Put Down guide, which is distributed via book retailers, libraries and online. A wide range of genres is represented in the list: adult literary and popular fiction (including crime and fantasy), adult non-fiction (including biography, history, sport and humour), and young adult and children's fiction and picture books.
The guide will help you GET LOST in amazing escapes, GET FRESH with new writers, GET HOOKED by catchy page turners, GET REAL with incredible true stories or just GET COMFY with a great book.
