Thursday 4 November 2010
5.30 pm - 6.30 pm
Maggie Alderson was born in London, brought up in Staffordshire and educated at the University of St Andrews. She has worked on two newspapers and nine magazines, is married with one daughter, owns many pairs of shoes and once said: “Don’t confuse drama with love. As a culture we have come to see ideal romantic love as a big, stomach-churning rollercoaster ride … overheated passionate relationships like that are a huge drain on your emotional resources – and a big bore for your friends. True romantic love is the opposite. Slow, steady and sure …” Maggie’s other novels include Cents and Sensibility, Handbags and Gladrags, Mad About the Boy, Pants on Fire and How to Break Your Own Heart.
Books will be available for sale on the night and Maggie will be happy to sign them.
